We held a quarterly general meeting on 9 September 2026. Members received updates on the group’s finances, governance, community projects and upcoming activities. 

Community Resilience and Climate Adaptation. The Community Resilience and Climate Adaptation Group continues to develop its priorities and activities. Members have participated in community resilience training and will share what they learned at a future group meeting.

Youth Way mural. Design work for the Youth Way mural is progressing. The project will include targeted engagement with community members and other stakeholders. Further information about engagement opportunities and the project timetable will be shared when details are confirmed.

Community insurance workshop. The recent community insurance workshop was well attended, attracting 24 participants. The event generated strong interest and discussion about home and contents insurance and the risks faced by households in disaster-prone areas.

Tecoma station precinct and Wattlebird Way. Preparation of the Tecoma station precinct for planting is underway, with the ground levelled and mulched. Plants are being sourced, and volunteers will be invited to participate when planting arrangements are confirmed.

Tecoma Community Clean Up. A community clean-up session will be held in Tecoma on 3 October from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm. Activities will include rubbish and graffiti removal, vegetation management and possible planting.

Communications and Facebook. The meeting discussed the amount of work required to administer and moderate BTTG’s Facebook pages. Automated responses and a call for additional volunteer administrative support will be trialled. These arrangements will be reviewed after one month.

Finances. BTTG remains in a sound financial position.

Next meeting. BTTG’s Annual General Meeting and next Quarterly General Meeting will be held on 19 November 2026. Further details will be provided closer to the date.
